THE IMPACT OF INTERACTIVE TEACHING METHODS ON STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ACTIVITY IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES

Abstract

This article examines the impact of interactive teaching methods on students’ speaking activity in English language classes. In contemporary language education, developing learners’ oral communication skills is considered one of the primary objectives of English language teaching. Interactive methods, such as pair work, group discussions, role-playing, problem-based tasks, and collaborative learning activities, actively engage students in the learning process and create meaningful communicative situations. The study analyzes how the use of interactive teaching strategies influences students’ participation, confidence, and fluency in speaking English. The findings indicate that interactive teaching methods significantly enhance students’ speaking activity by fostering learner autonomy, increasing motivation, and providing opportunities for authentic communication. The article concludes that the systematic implementation of interactive methods contributes to more effective and learner-centered English language instruction.
