Abstract

The rapid integration of digital technologies into educational environments has significantly transformed the teaching and learning of writing skills. Online platforms, including learning management systems, collaborative writing tools, automated grammar checkers, and academic discussion forums, have become essential instruments for improving students’ writing accuracy. This article investigates the pedagogical role of online platforms in enhancing grammatical precision, lexical appropriateness, coherence, punctuation, and overall academic writing performance among students learning English as a foreign language. The study applies a qualitative and analytical approach through an extensive review of scholarly literature and contemporary educational practices. The findings reveal that online platforms provide immediate feedback, foster collaborative learning, encourage autonomous revision practices, and increase learners’ motivation. Furthermore, digital writing environments create opportunities for continuous interaction between teachers and students, thereby contributing to more effective writing development. However, the study also identifies several limitations, including overreliance on automated correction tools, unequal technological access, and reduced critical thinking during independent writing tasks. The article concludes that online platforms, when pedagogically integrated and critically monitored, serve as powerful instruments for improving students’ writing accuracy and academic literacy in modern educational contexts.
