Ushbu maqolada video tasvir sifatini yaxshilash jarayonida segmentatsiya bosqichining ahamiyati va funksional roli yoritib beriladi. Segmentatsiya video kadrlarni semantik yoki strukturaviy qismlarga ajratish orqali tasvirni qayta ishlash jarayonlarini optimallashtirish imkonini beradi. Maqolada segmentatsiyaning asosiy turlari, ularning video sifati ko‘rsatkichlariga ta’siri hamda real vaqt rejimida ishlov berish tizimlarida qo‘llanilishi tahlil qilinadi.
